Split ducted systems

Split Ducted Systems are very similar to Split Wall Systems. The main difference is the internal unit and in a split ducted system there is a Fan Coil Unit (FCU) which is located and hidden internally within the ceiling of the building.

Typical fan coil units require around 400 mm or more of ceiling space to function correctly. These units require ducting which Tecair can also assist in the installation of a complete system. Office environments a very typical of these types of systems in smaller buildings.

Within the ceiling you will notice there are grills for the air to be sucked from the office and into the fan coil unit where it is then cool by being blown across the cooled coil with the air then distributed back through the ducting to various parts of the building. You will see the events within the ceiling tiles and you can typically feel the cool air coming from those events and that is the cycle related to a split ducted system.

Tecair is a service-oriented business we have learnt over the years that providing access to these systems is extremely important and needs to be built into the design of the system. If insufficient access is not provided then when it comes to service in the unit we will typically have to either cut our way through plaster to get to the unit or remove more ceiling tiles than might otherwise be necessary. In many instances this can be an extremely expensive process just to get to the fan coil units hidden within the ceiling.

We highly recommend that if you are considering such systems then using Tecair will be beneficial as you will gain from our access experience to lower cost for operating the equipment over the many years to come. The design life and depreciation of air conditioning split ducted system is a very similar to sleep war slip system switch. The exterior units in many instances of virtually identical.
