There is an enormous amount of variations to ventilation fans and their usages can include bathrooms, offices, waste areas, lift ducts, car parks and many other environments where fresh air is required. Although it does not need to be temperature controlled.
Tecair is willing and qualified to assist with your building’s ventilation fans. Nearly all of our HVAC service contracts address both your air conditioning and ventilation fan maintenance requirements.
Ventilation fans are comparatively low maintenance compared to air conditioning systems as there is no refrigerant, coils and the control system is reasonably simple. Ventilation fans are essentially a simple electric motor connected to fan blades which are designed to draw a specific amount of litres of air per second through the duct. Their capacity can range from 25 litres per second in a hotel bathroom, right up to thousands of litres per second in busy commercial kitchen range hood.
In tough environments where there is significant smoke and oil from cooking, your ventilation fan will need constant cleaning and quite often, replacement. Once the fan blades get dirty, airborne smoke particles, oil, dirt and dust will soon attract to them. The electric motor then has to work harder, bringing about early wear and reduced performance much sooner.
